New Player Assignment Committee – Vern Blough led everyone through the General Proposal for New Player Assignments. Six guidelines were introduced, discussed and all six passed.
Rule 1 – Assignment of New Players will be permanent, no temporary assignments and no player refusal by managers will be allowed.
Rule 2 – Assignment of New Players will take place at the monthly managers meetings. Players not rated by the assignment date must wait for the next assignment period.
Rule 3 – A player placed on the DL will not be eligible to play in the three (3) weeks following the date of the player assignment.
Rule 4 – A player placed on Inactive will not be eligible to return during the current season.
Rule 5 – The designation of a DL or Inactive status will be provided to the BOC prior to the time designated for making player assignments at the time identified by the BOC.
Rule 6 – The number of Active Players is defined as the total roster size less one (1) for each Inactive Player and one (1) for every 2 or 3 players on DL. One player on DL has no effect on Active Player Status. Four or five players on DL would reduce the Active Players by two.
Draft Committee Update – Managers received their Commitment Sheets for Season One 2018. They are due with money at the November 7 meeting. Bill Witte will send each manager their roster with individual ratings for their review. Changes will be passed on to the ranking committee.
A discussion on draft order for the first round and succeeding rounds resulted in a vote to keep the process the same as in the past. The draft is scheduled for Wednesday December 6 from 9:00-12:00 at the Calavera Community Center. No later than one week prior to the draft a meeting will be held for managers to make their first selection.
New Player Assignments – Jack London (14.5) was assigned to That Pizza Place. Greg Lorton (13) was assigned to Gaspar.
Sponsor Committee – Barb McCully and Leigh Peterson presented a few ideas to recognize team sponsors.
Meeting Adjourned at 3:15 p.m.
